Transfer of innovative ideas and technologies into new business can make a huge impact on the economy of countries. Innovative enterprises are creating jobs, boosting productivity and contributing to local and global economies already. European Universities and research organisations have been emphasising the importance of fostering and training entrepreneurship and have developed various support systems. Also the EU has been creating nurturing environments entrepreneurs through programmes such as EUREKA InnoVest by boosting business readiness and investment awareness for innovative SMEs. This session will deliver some insights into the European Universities’ efforts to initiate and encourage entrepreneurs and will demonstrate practical aspects of the EUREKA InnoVest Programme which gives investment opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Setting the Scene: Industry 4 the Future - UK and EU Attendees: EKC chair and co-chairs, Presidents of Korean Institutes EKC has been the major stage for connecting Korean Scientists and Engineers in Europe and Korea for the last 10 years. R&D communities in academia and industry from both Korea and Europe are facing huge challenges to ride on the wave of the 4th Industrial Revolution. The Presidents of the Korean Scientists and Engineers Associations in Europe would like to invite the leaders of Korean institutes and agencies to a round table discussion to share viewpoints about the prospects for EKC and its role in the future within the context of Industry 4. A short presentation about the UK and EU policy and planning for the next Industrial Revolution will set the scene for the discussion.
